From early-stage design advice through to as-built calculations and lodgement — we support architects, developers and self-builders through every stage of new build energy compliance.
SAP (Standard Assessment Procedure) is the government’s method for assessing and comparing the energy and environmental performance of new dwellings. It’s a mandatory requirement under Part L of the Building Regulations for all new domestic construction.
A SAP calculation must be submitted at design stage (to accompany your building regulations application) and again at as-built stage (once construction is complete). We handle both — and can advise early in the design process to make sure the build is on track to pass before it gets to site.
Early involvement means fewer surprises. We regularly work with architects and self-builders from concept stage to help shape specifications that will meet the required targets efficiently and cost-effectively.
Working with our specialist partners where needed, we deliver the complete new build compliance package — everything coordinated through us, from first calculations to final lodgement.
Design-stage and as-built SAP calculations for new dwellings, extensions and conversions. Part L compliance advice throughout.
Water efficiency calculations demonstrating compliance with Part G of the Building Regulations for new dwellings.
£65 first property · £30 each additional in same development
Fabric U-value calculations for walls, floors and roofs — verifying that your build specification meets the required thermal performance targets.
Blower door and pulse air permeability testing coordinated through our accredited specialist partners at completion stage.
Overheating risk assessments demonstrating compliance with Part O of the Building Regulations, coordinated with specialist modellers.
Linear thermal bridge calculations and PSI value modelling for junctions — essential for accurate SAP inputs and fabric performance.
For developments requiring Part E acoustic compliance — noise impact surveys and sound insulation testing — we deliver this as part of your overall compliance package. One point of contact, one less thing to manage.
The most common issue we see is being brought in too late — once a specification is set and difficult to change. Involving us at design stage almost always saves money and avoids last-minute compliance headaches.
We’re happy to do a quick sense-check on a scheme before you commit to a specification. Just send us the drawings and we’ll come back to you.
